Education Summit - Children, Young People and Sexual Offending
With a view to protecting children and young people, preventing future sexual offending and inspiring a cultural step change in society COPFS will host an Education Summit bringing together teachers, social workers, third sector staff and other professionals who work with young people.
The Solicitor General for Scotland, Alison Di Rollo QC, former head of the National Sexual Crimes Unit at Crown Office, recognises the need to inform children and young people about their legal rights and obligations under current sexual offences legislation.
The summit will help professionals to identify some of the key indicators of sexual offending and to advise the children with whom they work about the law and potential consequences of their and others' actions.
More information will be published in due course and this currently a 'save the date' notice.
