  • Together celebrates Human Rights Day 2018, marking 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

  • Scotland’s Human Rights Defenders at the UNCRC Day of General Discussion 2018

    On the 28th September 2018, 17 children and young people from Scotland took part in the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child’s Day of General Discussion (DGD) on Children as Human Rights Defenders.   • Brexit: Charter amendment falls as Lords focus on Meaningful Vote

    The EU Withdrawal Bill has now completed its bumpy 11-month ride through the Houses of Parliament with Royal Assent the final stage needed before the Bill becomes law. Some improvements have been made, such as reducing the scope for Henry VIII powers. However, despite our efforts, the fight to protect the Charter of Fundamental Rights was lost in the final days of the debates.

However, several projects and proposals highlight positive steps being taken in Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. These examples go beyond surveys and establish more active, face-to-face and ongoing engagement with children and young people.
