Civil society organisations, including Together, have written a letter to the First Minister asking for more resources which are needed for the development of Scotland’s new Human Rights Bill in order for it to succeed. The Scottish Government has since responded committing to funding the Bill “accordingly” but lacks sufficient detail.

In light of the UK Government’s “Rights Removal Bill” being shelved, Scotland’s civil society organisations have written to the First Minister emphasising the urgent need for Scotland’s new Human Rights Bill. The letter asks for reassurance after Scottish Government announced a significant delay to public consultation on the proposed Bill.

The Year of Childhood 2021 saw the passage of the UNCRC Incorporation Bill and Children’s Parliament’s 25th birthday. During the year, Children’s Parliament explored childhood through the lens of children’s human rights, raising awareness and understanding amongst the adult workforce.
