The Scottish Government has published a report of the Conversations Project with disabled children and young people, asking about their lives, expectations and aspirations.

The Conversations Project aimed to find out what things were most important to disabled young people and what they thought about the services and activities that they used and what they would like to see developed.

Six main themes emerged from the young people's discussions:

  • Consultation and participation
  • Involvement in activities outside school
  • Relationships
  • Physical and attitudinal barriers faced by the young people
  • Transitions
  • Aspirations for the future
