New Child Rights and Wellbeing Impact Assessments (CRWIA) have been published by the Scottish Government.

Scottish Government officials screen policies and legislation using the new CRWIA tool to assess whether a full, detailed impact assessment needs to be undertaken. It was decided that full CRWIA were needed in relation to the following four legislative developments:

- Carers (Scotland) Act 2016
- The Health (Tobacco, Nicotine and Care etc.) (Scotland) Bill - Communications aids
- The Health (Tobacco, Nicotine and Care etc.) (Scotland) Bill - Tobacco, nicotine and smoking / Duty of candour
- The Secure Accommodation (Scotland) Amendment (No.2) Regulations

Together welcomes that these CRWIA have been undertaken and that officials recognised the impact that each of the proposals could have on children's rights.
