Child-friendly, illustrated versions of thirty articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights have been published in the latest research guide for children and young people created by the OHCHR Library. The guide is available in plain English as well as the illustrated version and includes a child-friendly glossary of complex legal terms.
The research guide is part of a series of resources designed to give children and young people the opportunity to learn about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights through activities that include games, books, music, and ideas for discussions and reflections. There is also a selection of videos available in English, French, Russian and Chinese, which further facilitate understanding of the UDHR amongst children and young people.
All the resources described can be used to support teachers to prepare lessons on the UDHR and can help parents and carers to explain human rights to children of different ages.
