Getting it Right for Play Toolkit

The Getting it Right for Play Toolkit, published by Play Scotland, gives local authorities and community groups evaluation tools to assess the extent to which the outdoor play needs of children and young people are being met.

The toolkit also includes:

• The power of play: a literature review that demonstrates the crucial role of play, especially outdoor play, in children's enjoyment of their childhood and their healthy development
• Children's play in Scotland: the policy context. This document lists the areas of national policy and guidance most likely to impact on provision for local play.
