The theme of Eurochild's 2013 Annual Conference was "Building an inclusive Europe - the contribution of children's participation" and the conference report has now been published.
The Eurochild Annual Conference took place from 13-15 November 2013 in Milan, Italy. It was hosted by Eurochild member Albero della Vita Foundation in cooperation with the Italian national Ombudsman for Children, Municipality of Milan and the PIDIDA network, and with support by the Regione Lombardia.
Together took part in the conference and inputted a child rights perspective to discussions alongside examples of children's participation in Scotland.
The report focuses on setting the scene of children's participation; learning from good practice; the study visits which took place during the conference and the voice of young people.
The report highlights that more needs to be done to support child partici¬pation. Young people at the conference made a strong appeal to be listened to, taken seriously and for their voice to make a difference, reflecting Article 12 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
