The Auditor General and the Accounts Commission in Scotland have published a report which aims to explore the effectiveness of children and young people’s mental health services across Scotland in terms of delivery and funding.

The report asserts that the system as it currently stands is more focused on specialist care and crisis response than early intervention and prevention. It concludes that changes are required in the way the public sector in Scotland responds to the mental health needs of children and young people.
