The course focuses on how to care for and protect unaccompanied and separated refugee and migrant children who are moving across and between countries. It was developed by the University of Strathclyde and CELCIS, and it is available through FutureLearn.

The course takes place over six weeks, with four hours of engagement per week. It is available in English, French, Spanish and Arabic. Its aim is to inform the improvement of policy, practice and delivery of support services that uphold children’s rights. To do so, it focuses on:

  • The risks and vulnerabilities faced by these children;
  • The importance of providing a range of care options;
  • The necessary skills to work in this area.

The course encourages the exchange of ideas and experience between learners, while also providing promising examples of care and support around the world.
