The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) has published its third annual Children, Violence and Vulnerability report, shedding light on the challenges faced by teenagers aged 13-17 in England and Wales.
This year’s survey, which involved over 10,000 young people, explored new areas such as the impact of witnessing weapons online and violence within teenage relationships.
The findings are presented across five reports, examining:
- Who is affected by violence,
- The role of social media in youth violence;
- Differences in how boys and girls experience violence;
- Young people's views on the police;
- Access to positive activities, youth clubs, and trusted adults.
The survey highlights how many teenagers, alongside navigating school friendships, and self-discovery, also face the troubling reality of violence.
