Clan Childlaw, in partnership with the Law Society of Scotland, has announced new dates for its Lawyers for Children certification course, with the first in-person session at Brodies LLP in Edinburgh on 13 March 2025.
The course features five seminars focused on child-centred legal practice, covering topics such as why children need lawyers, adapting legal services for young clients, and understanding the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) in Scotland.
It aims to equip lawyers with the skills to prioritise children's rights and ensure young people are at the centre of legal decisions affecting them. Clan Childlaw envisions a Scotland where all children's rights are respected, protected, and fulfilled. Participants who complete the course will receive a year’s free membership to Clan Childlaw’s Lawyers for Children network, which offers exclusive resources to help lawyers confidently represent young clients and uphold their rights.
