The How to Child Rights (HTCR) platform is supporting civil society organisations with practical tools and guidance to strengthen work on children’s rights. Created by and for civil society, the platform promotes peer learning and co-creation, offering real-life case studies, step-by-step programming advice, and advocacy support.
Developed by Save the Children with Child Rights Connect and other trusted partners, HTCR helps practitioners stay informed and improve their work with children by providing tried and tested resources on key child rights issues.
To mark World Environment Day and World Oceans Day, HTCR is highlighting its environment-related resources, which focus on children’s right to live in a clean, healthy and sustainable environment. These include guidance materials, webinars, and examples of effective programmes.
One of the newest resources is a guide to help civil society organisations support the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child’s General Comment No. 26, which focuses on the effects of climate change on children’s rights. This guide—available in English, French and Spanish—was created with input from about 70 organisations and led by Child Rights Connect’s Working Group on Child Rights and the Environment.
