A new online resource from the Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights (CRER) is now available to help teachers and educators in Scotland promote anti-racism in schools using a human rights-based approach.
The resource highlights key rights that support anti-racist practice, including:
- The right to non-discrimination and equality
- Cultural and language rights
- Freedoms such as expression, assembly, and religion
It links these principles to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), focusing on rights that apply to learners under 18. The resource includes helpful examples and reflection questions for educators to consider how these rights can be applied in their everyday work.
This resource aims to encourage meaningful action in schools, helping create more inclusive environments for children and young people across Scotland.
