The Scottish Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has published its Annual Report for 2024–25, marking the first year of delivery under their Strategic Plan 2024–28.

The report highlights key work to strengthen accountability, amplify lived experience, and build a stronger human rights culture across Scotland.

This includes the launch of SHRC’s first State of the Nation report on civil and political rights, significant findings on human rights gaps in the Highlands and Islands, monitoring of prisons and mental health settings, work on independent living rights for disabled and autistic people, and new legal powers under the UNCRC (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024.
