Save the Children has published a new resource from the How to Child Rights series focused on strengthening civil society engagement in public budget analysis and advocacy for children’s rights.

As part of the broader project supporting the development of practical guidance titled “How to Analyze, Track, and Influence Public Budgets for Children’s Rights,” How to Child Rights convened a Middle Eastern and North Africa (MENA) Peer-to-Peer Learning Session in December 2025, bringing together civil society organizations and child rights practitioners from across the region.

The peer-to-peer session was held in both Arabic and English and featured case studies and practical experiences from organizations working in Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, and Morocco. Through peer exchange, participants explored how civil society actors engage children and communities in understanding public budgets, identifying child-related expenditures, and influencing budgetary decision-making to promote accountability and more equitable public spending for children.
