In this new report, Forces Children Scotland shine a light on the fact that Children and young people from Armed Forces families are not always receiving the support they need within Scotland’s education system.

The report was commissioned by the Children and Young People’s Commissioner Scotland and has been produced by Forces Children Scotland to capture and elevate the educational experiences of children and young people from Armed Forces families, and in doing so, explore what needs to change within the education system.

Currently, many children and young people in Armed Forces families feel as if they don’t get understanding, consistency and support that follows them, rather it restarts every time, resulting in their needs not being met. While many teachers and schools are aware of these children and young people’s needs, there are gaps in system design and consistency.
