Families Outside is a national organisation that works exclusively on behalf of children and families affected by imprisonment in Scotland. Eurochild has published its 2018 report on the European Semester, based on assessments provided by 23 Eurochild members in 18 countries. The report aims to highlight Member States’ progress in implementing the European Commission ‘Recommendation on Investing in Children: Breaking the Cycle of Disadvantage’ and the ‘European Pillar of Social Rights’ . It provides an analysis of the extent to which children’s rights and wellbeing are being prioritised within the 2018 European Semester cycle and aims to provide policymakers at EU level with a child-centred perspective to evaluating countries’ progress towards economic and social objectives.

Designed for non-governmental actors at regional, national and international levels, it aims to promotes a human rights-based approach to sustainable development, poverty eradication and environmental justice by highlight the importance of “highlighting the importance of rights-based monitoring of sustainable development/climate change policies and how violations of human rights can harm or hinder the implementation of SDGs and make people more vulnerable to climate change”.
