Compass Child and Family Service (Scotland) is a Scottish charity that offers care and support to children and their families. Through its board of trustees, the charity has links to Compass Child and Family Services (Ireland) and KJSH (Germany) who work in partnership providing the Scottish charity with support.
Situated in the town of Dalry in North Ayrshire, our residential children’s house named ‘Taigh Araich’ which translates in Gaelic to ‘Nurture House’ provides a nurturing and homely environment for up to four children and young people ranging between 0 to 18 years of age, who cannot live at home. Children and young people who live at Taigh Araich are carefully matched to the house ensuring that Taigh Araich meets the children and young people’s needs.
At Taigh Araich a trauma informed; evidence-base has been used to ensure that every aspect of the living environment gives children and young people the best possible chance to experience nurturing care. Each child/young person is supported by a case team with an identified keyworker who works closely with the chid/young person. Taigh Araich welcomes the opportunity to offer support to sibling groups who want to live together.
