The Third Sector Early Intervention Fund is a new £20 million programme being run by Big Fund (the non-Lottery arm of the Big Lottery Fund), for the Scottish Government. Further details have now been included on the Big Lottery Fund website, including an application form which must be submitted by the deadline of 1st February 2013 at 5:00pm.

The programme has a total of £20 million funding available, which will be split over two strands:

  • Strand one: Investing in organisations (around £14m available) - will invest in organisations that can improve policy and practice nationally, and provide support for organisations delivering services to children and young people, and the families and communities that support them.
  • Strand two: Investing in projects (around £6m available) - will fund creative approaches working directly with children and young people, and the families and communities that support them, which focus on prevention or intervening at an early stage.

For both strands, funding length can be between 18 months and two years and all funding must be spent by applicants by March 2015.

  • Information regarding who can apply for each strand, expected outcomes, who can apply and what you can apply for are available here.
