Date: 27th June 2018
Category:
Respect for the views of the child
This online survey is designed to capture the views of children and young people on the future of Europe and proves an opportunity for children to have their voices heard by the leaders of the European Union.
The survey, entitled 'the Europe kids want' is a joint initiative by Eurochild and UNICEF. It features questions on a variety of topics including children's experience of family life, school and society as well as their thoughts on Europe.
In order to encourage responses from under 18-year-olds, they survey is written in child-friendly language and is also available in 19 languages. Guidelines have also been developed to support schools and other organisations working with children and young people to stimulate in-depth discussion on the questions and these will be available online soon.
The survey is open until the 21st September 2018. The results will be announced at a special session of the European Parliament on 20th November, Universal Children's Day, which will be attended by a delegation of children and young people.
