Call for nominations to Together’s Board of Trustees 2023

Together is holding its next AGM on 20th September 2023 and are seeking to appoint three new Trustees to join the Board. We are particularly keen for applicants who meet with required competencies (see Trustee Role Description) alongside knowledge of the law, or experience in communications and marketing on a strategic level.

Together seeks trustees who have the knowledge and understanding to maintain an oversight of its activities at a strategic level, and who can contribute well informed views, constructive challenge and a commitment to best practice. A trustee’s ability to contribute in this way will often, but not always, draw on professional and/or practitioner experience at a senior level. All trustees are expected to have an expressed commitment to children’s human rights in line with Together’s vision and strategic plan and should be members of Together.

Together’s trustees are expected to demonstrate many of the personal competences included in Together’s Trustee role description and have the capacity to apply these to the direction of the organisation. Together’s Executive Subgroup will review all expressions of interests received to ensure applicants meet the required competencies before putting candidates forward to the Together membership for election. Together encourages applicants to have an informal discussion with existing Together Trustees or the Director in advance of applying. If you would like apply to stand for election as a Together trustee, you must complete a Trustee Nomination Form – endorsed by a Together member – and send it with an Expression of Interest (up to 150 words) and a Biography (up to 300 words) to Christine by 10^th September so applications can be shared with Together members ahead of the AGM.

Membership of the Board is by election through Together's voting members, who have paid the full annual fee for 2023/24. Trusteeship lasts for a period of 3 years, after which Trustees can be re-elected for one further term, to a total of 6 years. The position of Board member is unpaid. Reasonable expenses incurred in the pursuit of Board business will be covered.
