Laura Wijnberg a trainee psychologist at the University of Edinburgh is conducting research to explore how family communication impacts young people’s mental health. The study aims to identify which ways of communicating are helpful or unhelpful in family settings.
The research involves completing a fully online survey that takes less than 20 minutes. Participants who complete the survey can enter a prize draw to win vouchers worth £10 to £50 as a thank-you for their time. The study is open to:
- Parents of children aged 12-18 based in the UK
- Young people aged 12-18 in the UK (optional, with parental encouragement)
Parents are encouraged to participate and may invite their child to take part after completing the survey themselves. This research seeks to better understand family dynamics and their connection to mental health in young people.
