From law to reality: Implementing the UNCRC Act in practice

Join Together (Scottish Alliance for Children’s Rights) for the first session of our 2026/2027 webinar series, designed to support those working with and for children to embed children’s rights in their practice. The webinar draws on learning from our 2026 State of Children’s Rights Report, evidence from our membership and international reflections to grapple with how children’s rights can be implemented in practice, using the five principles of a Children’s Human Rights Approach: embedding, equality and non-discrimination, empowerment, participation and accountability. 

Learning from other countries that have incorporated the UNCRC into their domestic legal frameworks, this first webinar explores what it takes to implement children’s rights legislation in practice. We will use this learning to reflect on Scotland’s work to implement the UNCRC Act so far, with case study examples exploring resource constraints, leadership, and children’s evolving capacities.
