xNetworking: Youth Loneliness – Children and Young People’s Forum
Date: 10th June 2026
Time: 10am-11am
Location: Online, Zoom
This networking session will focus on understanding the prevalence and experience of loneliness in children and young people.
A third of young people aged 10-19 said they felt alone or lonely some of the time. (DCMS, 2025)
Girls, at age 13 and 15, are more than twice as likely to feel lonely most of the time or always, compared to boys. (Health Behaviour in School-aged Children study, 2023)
This is an opportunity for peer learning, sharing ideas and networking within a safe, supportive environment.
The event is open to all children, young people, and family befriending services and those interested in the prevention and alleviation of youth loneliness. Themes will cover social connection, children’s rights, trusted adults, and volunteer befrienders.
