Date: 4th February 2027
Time: 2:00 - 3:30pm GMT
Location: Microsoft Teams
Join Together (Scottish Alliance for Children’s Rights) for the third session of our 2026/2027 webinar series, designed to support those working with and for children to embed children’s rights in their practice. Using learning from our 2026 State of Children’s Rights Report, evidence from our membership and international reflections to grapple with how children’s rights can be implemented by drawing on the five principles of a Children’s Human Rights Approach: embedding, equality and non-discrimination, empowerment, participation and accountability.
The UNCRC Act has been designed to encourage everyday accountability so that children’s rights issues can be identified and responded to. This third webinar will explore how practitioners can navigate accountability mechanisms with and for children, including the role of the Children and Young People’s Commissioner Scotland, complaints mechanisms, advocacy support and using the law. With learning from an international speaker, we’ll explore case study examples of accountability and child-friendly access to justice in action in Scotland.
