Time: 2:00-5:00PM
Location: Scottish Government building, Victoria Quay, Edinburgh.

The UK Safer Internet Centre is inviting people across Scotland to an event in Edinburgh to prepare for Safer Internet Day 2027 and explore how everyone can help children and young people stay safe and thrive online.
The event will bring together speakers to discuss the upcoming campaign and encourage greater involvement across Scotland. Last year, 56% of children and young people aged 8 to 17 heard about Safer Internet Day, this year’s campaign is aiming to reach even more young people.
Safer Internet Day will take place on Tuesday 9th of February 2027, with the theme ‘Reflect on tech: exploring digital wellbeing and our relationship with technology’. The campaign will encourage children, families, government and the technology industry to think about how technology affects wellbeing and how it can be used responsibly. The event comes ahead of planned government restrictions affecting young people’s online access, including proposals for a ban on social media accounts for under-16s.
As the event will take place in a government building, all attendees must bring valid photo identification to gain entry.
