Date: 11th August 2010
Category:
UK 1st periodic review
You are warmly invited to the launch of the Together's "State of Children's Rights" report, followed by our AGM from 10.15am-13.30pm on Thursday 2nd September at the King James by Thistle Hotel Leith Street, Edinburgh.
Together will be launching our "State of Children's Rights" report for Scotland which provides the most comprehensive picture of the "State of Children's Rights" in Scotland in recent years and will be used to monitor progress in implementing the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child in Scotland. Over 60 NGOs across Scotland have contributed to the report, ranging from large national organisations to local after-school clubs and play groups.
We are delighted to welcome speakers including Adam Ingram MSP, Minister for Children and Early Years; Alan Miller, Chair of Scottish Human Rights Commission; Derek Couper, Chair of Scottish Youth Parliament and Dr Harry Burns, Chief Medical Officer for Scotland to the event, who will provide their comment on our findings and recommendations.
The Together AGM will follow after the launch of the Report. The event will be closed by a networking lunch - please let us know whether you will join us and if so, what are your dietary requirements.
Please confirm your attendance by 20th August by e-mailing Mirka Vybiralova.
