State of Children's Rights in Scotland report 2013

The State of Children's Rights report 2013 is a non-government review on the extent to which children in Scotland are able to enjoy their rights enshrined in the UNCRC.

It reflects on the past year since the publication of Together's 2012 State of Children's Rights report and discusses what progress has been made and where further efforts are needed.

The State of Children's Rights report 2013 identifies a number of steps that should be taken to strengthen the implementation of the UNCRC across Scotland. These are referred to as 'recommendations' in the report and are directed towards a number of agencies, with the majority specifically for the Scottish Government.

The report was launched by the Minister for Children and Young People, Aileen Campbell MSP, on 20th November 2013; Universal Children's Day. There was fruitful discussion as panel members (Dr. Zoe Dunhill, Heather Coady, Theresa Casey and Juliet Harris) reflected on the 4 General Comments of the UNCRC adopted in February 2013.
