Category: Reporting to and monitoring the UNCRC

Shilla, Ambassador at Who Cares? Scotland has written a new blog for Together outlining her experiences meeting Ms Amal Aldoseri.

On September 3rd 2015, a member of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, Ms. Amal Aldoseri, visited Scotland to listen to children and young people's views and experiences about their rights and growing up in Scotland. Amal's visit to Scotland offered an exciting and important opportunity to provide further information to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, on the day-to-day realities of children's lives and the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). This information built on a report Together submitted to the UN Committee on 1st July 2015. Download the report here.

Ms Aldoseri visited numerous locations around Fife and Glasgow to talk to children and young people - one of these visits was to Who Cares? Scotland where Amal met Shilla, ambassador for Who Cares?

Shilla has written a fantastic new blog piece about her experiences meeting Amal and what the visit represents for looked after children and young people in Scotland.
