Scottish Government are undertaking a consultation on the Education (Scotland) Bill which aims to create a school and teacher-led education system.
Deadline: January 30th 2018
The proposed Bill will:
- Establish a Headteacher's Charter which sets out the rights and responsibilities of the headteachers;
- Strengthen the voice of children and young people by actively promoting and supporting pupil participation;
- Work to improve parental and community engagement in school life and in learning outside of school
The consultation paper sets out why Scottish Government think these changes will improve educational outcomes for young people, how they will work in practice, and what legislative changes are needed to enable them to happen.
