UN Committee Day of General Discussion – update

The UN Committee on the Rights of the Child's Day of General Discussion will this year be held on the topic of Children as Human Rights Defenders and several new resources have been made available in recent weeks to encourage children, young people and organisations to get involved.
Survey

A survey has been developed in order to ensure the voices of children and young people lead and inform the Day of General Discussion. They survey is open to all children and young people under the age of 18 and asks for their views, opinions and experiences on the issue of children as human rights defenders.

 

Logo

The official logo for the day has been revealed! The logo was designed by the DGD Child Advisory Team.

 

Call for films and materials

Child Rights Connect is collecting videos and graphic materials from children human rights defenders which will be used in a film that will be shown in the Exhibition that will take place at the UN in Geneva at the time of the DGD.

Materials that can be submitted for the video include a video on human rights issues or an interview with other children human rights defenders.

Child Rights Connect are also looking for drawings, texts, or photos on child rights to expose at the Exhibition which have been created by children human rights defenders.
