Universal Periodic Review (UPR)
Closing date: 31st August 2020
UPR info and Child Rights Connect are seeking feedback from children on a new guide which has been developed for children aged 12 to 17. The guide seeks to raise children’s understanding of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) mechanism, empower and engage children throughout the cycle.
The guide will help children learn about the UPR and how they can participate. It will also answer questions like:
- What is the United Nations?
- What are human rights?
- What are children's rights?
- What are the steps of the UPR?
- How can children take part?
- What are the benefits?
Children globally are invited to give their feedback. This also offers a great opportunity to build children’s awareness and capacity on participation in the Universal Periodic Review process, to take forward discussions about children’s human rights among children and to raise understanding of how children can defend their own and other’s rights.
