xCall for children’s participation to develop a child-friendly ICERD
Date: 28th May 2021
Category:
UN Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW)
Encourage children to participate in a project to develop the first ever child-friendly International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) and its standards.
Children are encouraged to give feedback on the first child-friendly draft of this Convention and its standards. The aim is to create a clear, simple and accessible text for children aged 12 and above. In doing so, this project hopes to develop an educational tool that can be used by all, to promote awareness-raising and understanding.
The following supporting tools have been developed for those supporting children to take part:
- An important information sheet for facilitatorsbefore beginning.
- A simple Powerpoint for facilitators to use for an online consultation.
- A consultation feedback form to use.
The deadline to send feedback is 31st July 2021 with some flexibility if needed.
