xCall for children’s views! Support children to share their views with the UN Human Rights Office on inclusive social protection
Date: 13th February 2023
Category:
Respect for the views of the child, Social security
The UN Human Rights Office would like to hear from children directly for their report on inclusive social protection and is organising four online children’s discussions (two in English, one in French and one in Spanish).
When and where:
15th March:
- 08:00-09:00 (CET) - ENGLISH Sign-up here
- 15:00-16:00 (CET) - FRENCH Sign-up here
- 17:00-18:00 (CET) - SPANISH Sign-up here
16th March:
- 16:00-17:00 (CET) - ENGLISH Sign-up here
It is recommended that children who participate in the online call have either participated already in focus group discussions or have already been briefed about child rights and inclusive social protection. Due to the limited time available for these calls (60mins), if the children have participated in big focus group discussions, the organisers encourage the children to select a few representatives.
The online children’s discussions will take place on Zoom and the registered participants will receive the Zoom link two days before the call. To ensure that the call is a space for all children, the organisers would like to minimise the participation of supporting adults. Therefore, unless it is requested by the child participant, supporting adults should refrain from joining the call.
Child Rights Connect has created a folder full of supportive resources for you on ways to encourage and collect children’s views, which can be adapted to suit your context. These include:
