The General Comment No.26 on children’s rights and the environment with a special focus on climate change is set to launch on 18th September 2023. See how you can get involved in the global lunch of #GC26 and find out more about the making of the General Comment by reading on.
The United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child, supported by a steering group led by Terre des Hommes, has taken a collaborative, intergenerational approach to its development and engaged children and networks including Children’s Environmental Rights Initiative (CERI), OHCHR and Child Rights Connect. The efforts were also guided by child expert advisors.
To complement the official launch event, the General Comment No. 26 steering group together with the Child Advisors invite children, young people and wider global community to host launch activities on (or around) 18th September 2023 to celebrate the efforts and advocate for its implementation.
