Category:
Other human rights treaties and mechanisms

The Human Rights Bill consultation closed last month, and many organisations responded with their views and concerns, particularly around children’s rights. Read on to find quick links to Together’s response along with other organisations that have been shared with us.
The consultation asked various questions like how best to embed participation in the framework of the Bill, who the duties of the Bill should apply to, views on a Human Rights Scheme and how best the Scottish Government can build capacity across the public sector to ensure the right in the Bill are delivered effectively.
What happens next: all responses will be analysed and considered along with other evidence available. Scottish Government’s webpage says that “an analysis report will be made available shortly”.
- Together’s response - highlighting what this Bill needs to consider from a children’s rights perspective.
- CELCIS response - highlighting what this Bill needs to consider for children with Care Experience and those working in the area of care.
- Aberlour’s response - highlighting the needs of those whose rights are most at risk.
