Ruby Boots is a mentorship programme by Forces Children Scotland to provide buddy mentors for young people who have a parent who has left the armed forces. Read on to find out more about the programme!

When a parent decides to leave the armed forces, it can be challenging for children and young people. This can mean feeling lost and alone in a new place, powerless in the face of change or anxious about what lies ahead. Ruby Boots provides peer buddy mentors, who are young people who have already made the change from military to civilian life with their families. This programme is for young people from armed forces and veteran families, adults from military veteran and children backgrounds, educators and professionals.
