General principles, General measures of implementation
The European Union Children's Participation Platform has unveiled its 2025-26 Work Plan, co-created with children to focus on the issues that matter most to them.
Developed in consultation with the Advisory Board, Children’s Panel, and young participants at the Create, Plan, Participate meeting in June 2024, the plan aligns with children’s priorities and the European Commission’s upcoming agenda. The plan will address key issues such as equal opportunities, social inclusion, mental health, online safety, and climate action. It aims to improve access to education, healthcare, and housing, while supporting children’s mental well-being and creating safer online spaces. Environmental protection is also a priority, with a focus on involving children in sustainability efforts and teaching them how to care for the planet.
To bring these goals to life, the Platform will engage children across Europe through consultations, study visits, and peer collaboration on pressing issues. Child-friendly documents will also be co-created, ensuring that policies are accessible and understandable.
