The Access All Arts Fund, a fund developed by children and young people for children and young people to overcome barriers to art and creativity, has announced that 88 awardees across Scotland will receive a total of £65,095.40 to support their creative interests. Find the project reports here!
The fund, managed by Children in Scotland and backed by The National Lottery through Creative Scotland, helps children and young people who face barriers to accessing the arts.
A panel of children and young people selected the awardees, considering challenges such as mental health, financial struggles, disabilities, cultural and language barriers, and limited access to materials or equipment. This year’s fund received 148 applications from children and young people aged 11 to 25, with successful applicants pursuing activities such as photography, painting, music, and dance.
Now in its third year, the project has already shown positive results. A 2023 survey revealed that 92% of recipients reported improved mental health and wellbeing, and 82% felt the funding had helped them overcome barriers to the arts.
