Children in Wales, a coalition of children’s groups across Wales, is calling on every political party and candidate to put the rights, wellbeing, and voices of children at the heart of their decision-making in its new manifesto titled Champions for Children: A Manifesto for Babies, Children and Young People, ahead of the 2026 Senedd Election.

Central to the manifesto is a pledge for candidates to commit to: “I will be a Champion for Children during and after the 2026 Senedd election.” The aim is for all politicians to actively defend children’s rights, promote their wellbeing, and ensure their views are heard in all decisions that affect their lives.

Children in Wales says this is a chance for political leaders to show determination and courage, inspire a generation, and help create a better Wales for every child.
