This initiative forms part of MRN's Not a Stranger campaign, a grassroots, migrant-led movement responding to a wave of increasingly hostile government proposals and political rhetoric that make it harder for migrants to build stable lives in the UK.

The survey aims to capture the experiences and concerns of migrants across all legal statuses about how these policies are impacting their lives. Insights gathered will inform MRN's forthcoming report for the government's consultation on the Immigration White Paper. The findings will also help raise awareness of the real-world effects of divisive political narratives that scapegoat migrants.

Restrictions on visas, asylum applications and family reunions can have direct and lasting impacts on migrant families, particularly on children's rights to family life, education and protection as enshrined in the UNCRC. If you know of any families who may be affected by these policy changes please share this survey and help ensure their voices are heard.

The deadline for responses has been extended to the 12th November 2025.
