World Children’s day provides a reminder that every child, everywhere, has the right to survive, learn, be protected and have their voice heard.

Yet, despite these universal commitments, millions of children continue to face barriers to education, healthcare and safety, especially in regions affected by conflict, poverty and inequality.

Save the Children urges governments, organisations and individuals alike to move beyond celebration and take concrete action to make children’s rights a reality. That means listening to children’s voices, ensuring policies and budgets reflect their needs, and creating spaces where they can thrive and participate in shaping their futures.

“On Universal Children’s Day—and every day—children’s rights need to be respected, protected and fulfilled.”

As we celebrate Universal Children’s Day, let’s recommit to building a world where every baby, child and young person grows up in an atmosphere of happiness, love and understanding.
