Amnesty International has provided a tool to simplify the process of reaching out for your local MSP candidates and call on them to support a Scottish human rights bill.

Amnesty International urges people in Scotland to reach out to their MSP candidates, if they want to see a fair and just society, where nobody has to struggle for essentials like housing, food, healthcare, and a safety net for life’s uncertainties. To make this as easy as possible, it has introduced a tool that allows everyone to easily find their MSPcandidates and their contact address.

The organisation is calling on candidates in the Scottish Parliament election to support the call for a new Human Rights Bill that would protect the rights everyone needs for a decent standard of living.

By including a range of international human rights treaties in Scots law, a Human Rights Bill would:

  • Give all of us the power to fight back when we don’t get fair treatment from the institutions that are supposed to protect everyone.

  • Be a vital step towards a fair and just society where nobody has to struggle without the basic essentials.
