Respect for the views of the child
The Children and Young People’s Commissioner (CYPCS) is seeking children and young people aged 12-17 for an exciting role that makes a big difference to children’s rights in Scotland. No experience is needed, support will be given and expenses paid.
What do Young Advisors do?
The Young Advisors play a vital part in shaping Children and Young People’s Commissioner Nicola Killean’s work.
They have lots of fun while pushing for change in children’s rights in Scotland.
They meet to share their opinions, tell the Commissioner about other children’s experiences, and influence the office’s work. In the past year, they have been supported to:
-
speak at the United Nations in Geneva, and meet young people from across Europe in Croatia and Romania
-
help plan and present events such as online assemblies for primary-aged children
-
go into schools with the team to listen to children and young people on education
Closing Date: Apply online by Sunday, 1 February 2026
