Our children’s rights manifesto is out now! This manifesto brings together the priorities of our membership to ensure that children’s rights are at the heart of the next Scottish Parliament.

It is intended as a resource for political parties, candidates and policy makers to ensure that children’s rights are at the heart of the next Scottish Parliament.

The manifesto brings together a  selection of members’ calls from their individual manifestos ahead of the May 2026 elections in one place.  Some calls are for legislation, others relate to policy, investment and practice. Bringing them together sets out what our members believe is needed to ensure children’s rights are realised in everyday decisions across Scotland.

The manifesto refers to the 2023 Concluding Observations from the Committee on the Rights of the Child and the Scottish Governments responses. It presents the priorities Together’s membership wants the next Scottish Government to have, to further its commitment to and ensure that every child can grow up in an environment of love, happiness and understand and having their rights realised. Members’ calls have been organised into eight themes that reflect the cluster areas of the UNCRC:

  • Making children’s rights real

  • Fairness, equality and being heard

  • Information, expression and privacy

  • Protection from harm

  • Family support and care

  • Health, standard of living and the environment

  • Education, learning and play

  • Justice, protection and asylum

We are deeply grateful to every Together member for their passion, expertise and commitment that has shaped their manifestos and for their contribution to this project.
