xConsultation on tackling child poverty delivery plan 2026-31
Date: 19th March 2025
Category:
Child poverty, Policy and strategy

Closing date: 28th March 2025
The Scottish Government is calling on organisations and the public to help shape its next plan to tackle child poverty. Recognising that eradicating child poverty requires action from local and national government, charities, businesses, and communities, the government is seeking evidence and ideas on how to drive real change.
The consultation invites feedback on current policies, potential improvements, and new approaches that could reduce child poverty. Key areas of focus include supporting parents into work, reducing the cost of living, providing whole-family support, and ensuring children reach their full potential. The Scottish Government also aims to address the needs of families most at risk, including single-parent households, larger families, minority ethnic families, and young mothers.
Individuals and organisations can submit their views and evidence. The Scottish Government is also hosting workshops and discussions to explore specific issues further.
