The UNLtd Sport Relief 'Do It' Award provides opportunities for young people (18 - 21 years old) to bring communities together, to help promote understanding and solve problems through sport, arts and recreational activities. The fund will be giving away of up to £10,000 plus more intensive support directly to young people. Do It Awards will be made every 3 months.

Comic Relief has announced that its grants UK programmes are once again open for applications. On average grants of between £25,000 and £40,000 are available to not for profit organisations for work that focuses on mental health, domestic and sexual abuse; refugee and asylum seeking women; older people, using sport in delivering positive change within the lives of individuals and communities, as well as projects focusing on young people (11 - 25) that are sexually exploited; suffer from alcohol abuse; and suffer from mental health problems. In addition, Comic Relief operates a programme that support disadvantaged communities.

The Trust is particularly interested in charities that work with vulnerable, marginalised and excluded people in society, with a focus on; refugees and victims of torture, prisoners, older people, and people with mental health problems.

A project involving a group of 16 pupils has given young people the chance to have their views on Curriculum for Excellence heard. The research project ran over a number of days and was designed to develop pupils from P7 and S2 as curriculum consultants. The series of workshops builds on the Government's ongoing dialogue with teachers and parents about the new curriculum and will help ensure the changes are properly communicated to pupils too.

AbilityNet have received funding to run a project to develop, deliver and promote a 'Quality and Assurance Standard' and online assessment tool, which will enable Education Institutions to evaluate and improve the accessibility of their documentation and internet provision for disabled children, young people and adults.
